About Us:

We are a small law firm based out on Hurst, Texas. Our areas of practice include Personal Injury, Criminal Defense and Civil Litigation. We believe that access to quality education is a right and a right that should not leave you in financial debt. Education in Texas has been a political battleground for many years and the ones who are affected by it the most is you - the student. We've made it our mission to help you further your education by not only creating a scholarship every school semester but also making this scholarship available for virtually all students. 

Requirements:

Please note that this scholarship is for the 2019 summer semester. If you are not taking classes this summer you are not eligible for this scholarship. Matthew Pillado PLLC will be hosting a scholarship every semester.

-You must currently be enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year university in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for the summer of 2019.

    -Examples: TCC campuses, TCU, UTA, UNT, TWU, UTD, etc.

      -All majors are welcomed.

        -There are no GPA requirements for this scholarship.

          -You will be asked to submit some kind of proof of enrollment. A summer class schedule works. Other forms you can submit are a school transcript or a letter of enrollment.

              Award Amount: $1,000

              This amount will be sent to your school by us and we will personally ask them to apply it towards your tuition.

              Scholarship guidelines:

              The candidate must be able to write a well thought out paper based on the essay topic provided. There is no mandatory minimum for this essay. Scholarship applicants should be prepared to be interviewed if chosen as a finalist. There can be more than two finalists.

              The topic:

              Read the following poem by Robert Frost. Interpret the poem and tell me what this piece means to you.

              The Road Not Taken

              By Robert Frost

              Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,

              And sorry I could not travel both

              And be one traveler, long I stood

              And looked down one as far as I could

              To where it bent in the undergrowth;

              Then took the other, as just as fair,

              And having perhaps the better claim,

              Because it was grassy and wanted wear;

              Though as for that the passing there

              Had worn them really about the same,

              And both that morning equally lay

              In leaves, no step had trodden black.

              Oh, I kept the first for another day!

              Yet knowing how way leads on to way,

              I doubted if I should ever come back.

              I shall be telling this with a sigh

              Somewhere ages and ages hence:

              Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-

              I took the one less traveled by,

              And that has made all the difference.

              Deadline:

              The Scholarship will be open for submissions from April 10th until May 12th. Submissions will close at 11:59 pm on the 12th. We will personally contact any finalist.
